Fall Acorn Box Card

Hey, crafty friends! Ready to say goodbye to summer? The little signs of Fall popping up in stores have me excited for cooler days, pumpkins, and seasonal crafting. For today’s tutorial, I worked with the Acorn box card (SVG, Silhouette).

This box card features two insets, two acorn covers, and a flower cluster on the front. I began by adding ink to most of the elements to give them dimension. The large flowers have two main layers plus a center, while the smaller flowers have one layer and a center. For several flowers, I swapped the paper centers for enamel dots or brads. The suggested placement for the small flowers works well, but if I could, I’d move the small orange flower out and up along the green stem. Once assembled, the acorn stem covers it.

The main body of the box card is a simple box with two acorn covers and two small, patterned paper covers. Each acorn has three layers: one for the body and two for the cap. The score lines are folded into mountain folds, with the acorns attached to the long sides of the box and the patterned papers on the short sides. For the inserts, I folded the score lines as valley folds. I flipped the card base over, added glue to the back of the tab on the purple flower insert, and lined it up with the top of the box and the score line. I repeated the process for the second insert, aligning it with the top of the box and the back of the first insert. Then I flipped the inserts back over, glued the back side of the tabs, and closed the card base over them, making sure everything was aligned. Finally, I glued the box tab and closed the card, carefully lining up all the edges.

With the acorn box, I attached the orange flower cluster to the front of the box. I also added a “Hello” sticker and a small acorn sticker from my stash of supplies.

That's all for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Back to School Book Box Card

Back to School season is here, and I’ve created a fun book-themed card (SVG, Silhouette) that’s perfect for welcoming a new teacher or showing appreciation on meet-the-teacher night. With cheerful layers and an apple accent, it’s a great way to start the school year off right. For extra charm, I added punched stars and hearts to the front. This card is quick to assemble, easy to make, and a wonderful addition to any collection.

Flowerpot Box Card Tutorial

Hello! Today, I’m excited to share a step-by-step assembly tutorial for the Box Card Spring Flower Pot 3 (SVG, Silhouette). This card includes several print-and-cut sentiments, and for this project, I’ve chosen the Happy Birthday design. All of the papers come from the Strawberry Fields collection by Echo Park Paper Co.

First, I inked most of the paper edges and folded all the score lines into valley folds. Next, I adhered the gingham pattern papers to the flowerpot base, which is constructed in two pieces glued end to end. The three inserts feature a total of 10 flowers, with one extra flower for the front of the pot. I didn’t cut out the flower centers from paper, as they are included in the file, and I used enamel dots from my stash for the flower centers.

The inserts can be a bit tricky to attach due to the slanted shape of the flowerpot. I adhered them to the inside of the second and fourth sections, starting with the left tab of each insert and ensuring they were level with the top of the flowerpot and aligned with the front insert.

Once all the inserts were secured on the left side, I folded them over and applied glue to the back of each tab. Then, I folded the flowerpot over the glued tabs and added glue to the flowerpot tab before closing it. I also added two strips of gingham paper to form the flowerpot’s rim, adhering them neatly to both the front and back of the card.

Lastly, I adhered the sentiment and the final flower to the front of the flowerpot.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Thank you for stopping by today!

5x7 Barn Easel Card Tutorial

Hi there! Today I am sharing an assembly tutorial for the 5x7 Barn Easel Card Patriotic (SVG, Silhouette). This barn card includes several elements, but the assembly is straightforward. Each piece has at least two layers. Start by gluing down the barn stripes, followed by the roof trim. Assemble the door and windows, then attach them to the barn. Center the wreath around the top window and glue the banner to the middle of the barn. Finally, align and attach the small fence along the bottom and right side of the barn.

The card base consists of two pieces. The top piece features two score lines that are folded as mountain folds. The end fold is glued to the back piece, forming the card base. Attach the green grass strip to the front of the card at the open edge. Apply glue only up to the middle score line on the card base, then center the barn over the glued area, aligning it with the bottom of the card. The truck can now be glued to the front of the card aligning it to the bottom and left side of the car.

The sentiment is glued inside the card near the center. Adding foam dots to the back of the sentiment will help keep the card open, though they are optional.

This barn card is darling and makes a festive decor piece for the recipient. Be sure to check out all of the available options in Lori's shop. Thanks for stopping by today!
