Loads of Love Box card

Now that Christmas is over I can officially start my Valentines Day crafts. WooHoo! I like all holidays but Valentines is probably in my top three. I have enjoyed this holiday for as long as I can remember. Making paper heart animals in kindergarten, getting ding dong ditched valentines, heart shaped sugar cookies from Grandma, chocolates from Mom and Dad,  and making and passing out valentines every year in school.

I have continued the making and passing out valentines tradition. This year I plan on doing a few styles. This one was inspired by a Christmas box card by SVG Cuts and a retired stamp set from Stampin Up called Loads of Love.  So cute, that vintage truck was a huge hit at Christmas so why not Valentines day too.  Loads of love coming at you. Christmas Gift Idea

This is a super simple gift idea. I went to a local holiday boutique in search of some unique meaningful gifts this year. I was lucky and found some really great things. One of which was a unfinished wood heart from the Lolly Jane girls.  I found a sheet of wood grain paper in my stash, cut the letters out of vinyl and glued it all down with mod podge. I add a tulle hanger to the back and now it ready for its new home in Alaska. (sorry if I ruined surprise Alaska family)

Old Lantern Snow Glode

A few years ago I received a DIY snow globe from my sister in law Vanessa. I loved it. I reminded me of Narnia. Snowy trees and an old timey street lamp. Sadly after a few years of being stored in the heat of the garage it was falling apart. But I couldn't bring myself to throw it away.  After seeing the Lolly Jane Instagram post about #showmeyoursnowglobe I knew what I wanted to do with the parts of that cherished snow globe. The old lantern was also a gift, from my mother in law. The glass bowl is a vase I had stashed in my cupboards. Gotta love when a craft comes together without needing to go buy anything new for it.

Holly Jolly Banner

I put together another fun Christmas project. Originally  wanted to make a banner to go around my tree but quickly had to change the plan. My Christmas tree it tall and really skinny. It is a pencil tree I picked up at Michael's. A banner wrapped around it would just look weird and be unreadable. So on the bookshelf it goes.

This paper! 😍😍😍 The card base, font, and snowflake all come from Cricut Design studio. My decorative elements are the cardstock sticker icons from the same paper collection. The stickers make things so easy. Peel off backing, apply a pot dot, and stick it to your project!

2016 DIY Christmas Ornaments

I have had the opportunity to participate in a Christmas ornament exchange for the last 7 years. The rules are pretty simple. You decide how many ornaments you want to exchange, make or buy the ornaments, then mail them off to their new homes. I love making ornaments but the best part is getting ornaments in the mail. I decided to make and send ten ornaments this year so I will be receiving ten different ornaments back. Ten happy little packages. I love getting things in the mail.

My ornaments this year where inspired by this pin. So pretty. I love the snow globe feel they have.

Off to Michaels I went for my supplies. Plastic ball ornaments, ribbon, and pipe cleaners I was all set. The paper, embellishments, and stickers are from the Doodlebug Here Comes Santa Clause collection that I was able to order from Scrapbook.com.

These are my favorites. No two are alike. I hope the girls receiving them will love them as much as I do. This has become one of my favorite holiday traditions. I love that my Christmas tree is filled with unique one of kind ornaments that mean so much to me.

  

Christmas Advent Calendar

As a kid I always dreamed of having an advent calendar at Christmas. Kinda like the one in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.  A little window to open every day with a treat inside or some special message. But with several brothers and a sister that dream never became a reality. What we did get every year was a lifesaver story book. Do you remember those things? They were AWESOME except for the buttered rum and it always came with two rolls of that flavor! Gross! Ahh Christmas traditions. One of the best part of this holiday season.

I'm so glad I get to have the chance to make an advent calendar for my own family and start our own traditions.

Lets move on to the crafts.

I chose the 24 Day Christmas advent Calendar and a few of the Doodlebug SVG's from Lori Whitlock. The paper collection is from Doodlebug Designs. The Here comes Santa Clause collection.

I love how happy everything looks in this collection. I can't help but smile at that Santa.

I'm not sure who came up with the Santa on a Vespa but he sure is CUTE!

I also love the reindeer. On this project they represent each member of my little family.

How does Doodlebug make such simple bird look so cute. I may have to make a few bigger to add to my tree this year.   

I watched the assemble video on Lori's site for the boxes and frame. I designed the little scene in Circuit design space. The boxes measure about 16.5 inches by 6.25 inches. The snowy arch is 15 inches by 8.5 at the highest point. The tallest tress are 8 inches tall.

This was a fun project. That didn't  take to long to tackle. Hopefully you will try one too and make all your kids advent calendar dreams come true.
